Are you planning on hiring pool builders in the Los Cabos area? Don’t forget to ask these questions. The answers should give you an idea as to whether they will be worth working with.
How many years of experience do you have?
The more experience a company has in the business, the better they are. It isn’t really recommended that you work with a company that is a new player in the industry. You have no guarantee they will do a good job.
Have you completed this type of project before?
Every pool build presents its own challenges. Find out whether the pool contractor has completed this type of project in the past. This will tell you whether they have the skills to tackle your project.
Do you have any photographs of completed projects?
This way you can get a feel for what their work looks like when completed. Does it look good? The pool contractor may be good for you.
Can you provide references?
The best pool builders can provide you with references for completed projects. If they can’t provide you with references, then this indicates that they either new to the business, haven’t completed this type of project before, or no customers would recommend them.
How long will it take to complete the build?
Obviously, the quicker it is done, the better.
How much will it cost?
The company will only be able to give you an estimated cost, but it is a great way to compare different companies. If the price is too cheap, then there is a good chance they will be cutting corners somewhere. We never recommend working with companies that are too cheap for that reason.
Do you have any design suggestions?
The best pool contractors won’t be afraid to speak up if they have a different way to approach the project. After all, builds will present unique challenges. However, they will also listen to any suggestions that you have too.
Do you provide any sort of warranty?
While even the best pool contractor will go to great lengths to ensure that the job is completed to absolute perfection, sometimes things can go wrong. This is often down to faulty materials or equipment. You need to know that there is a warranty in place to ensure that you are protected.
Can you provide maintenance for completed pools?
If you own a pool, it will need continued maintenance. It is important that you ask your pool contractor whether they can help with this. Obviously, you will need to pay for the maintenance, but at least you know you will be working with a company that you can trust.
